JOSEPH J. AKPIEYI is the Executive Chairman of Trithel International Company Limited, Lagos.  Prior to founding Trithel in 1992, he distinguished himself at the highest levels of management and boards of major subsidiaries of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation as part of his extensive experience in the Nigerian Oil industry spanning 26 years. 


Chief Akpieyi was the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company, Port Harcourt (1980-85), the General Manager of NNPC’s Pipelines Operations Division (1985-88), the first Managing Director of Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company Limited (1988-90) and the Managing Director of National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (1990-91) from where he voluntarily retired. Since 1992, he has consulted on Total Quality, ISO 9001, Strategic Management, Environmental and Human Capital Development and Human Resourcing issues for various noted industry giants.


Chief Akpieyi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, the Nigeria Society of

Engineers, Nigerian Academy of  Engineers, Chemical Society of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Institute of Directors. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and American Society for Quality.  Engr. Akpieyi, a former National President of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, is a British Standard Institute (BSI) Certified Quality Auditor.


MRS. BAWO TAJINERE IKOMI is the Human Resource Director of Trithel International Company Limited. Armed with a degree in History from the University of Jos, and upon completion of her NYSC stint at the Intercontinental Merchant Bank (now Intercontinental Bank Plc); she proceeded to the University of Reading, United Kingdom, where she studied law and gained her Bachelors degree in Law in 1994 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1996.


She has over the years been involved in several HR projects and has gained extensive people management skills and knowledge. She has been involved in recruitment projects for several major companies spanning industries in Nigeria. With her knowledge of the Nigerian Law and her ability to put people at ease thereby getting the best of them, she has been a great asset to Trithel International and to her clients.


Bawo Ikomi joined Trithel’s board of directors from inception in 1992 as a non-executive director until 2007 when she assumed the executive role of Human Resources Director.
