JOSEPH J. AKPIEYI
JOSEPH J. AKPIEYI is the Executive Chairman of Trithel International Company Limited, Lagos. Prior to founding Trithel in 1992, he distinguished himself at the highest levels of management and boards of major subsidiaries of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation as part of his extensive experience in the Nigerian Oil industry spanning 26 years.
Chief Akpieyi was the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company, Port Harcourt (1980-85), the General Manager of NNPC’s Pipelines Operations Division (1985-88), the first Managing Director of Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company Limited (1988-90) and the Managing Director of National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (1990-91) from where he voluntarily retired.
Since 1992, he has consulted on Total Quality, ISO 9001, Strategic Management, Environmental and Human Capital Development and Human Resourcing issues for former African Petroleum Plc, former Intercontinental Bank Plc, Cakasa (Nigeria) Limited, Oando Nigeria Plc, Ashaka Cement Plc, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, IMC Ltd, Rockson Engineering Ltd, Arco Petrochemical and Engineering company and others in the manufacturing and service industries.
Chief Akpieyi is a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Chemical Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Directors and the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and American Society for Quality. Engr. Akpieyi, a former National President of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, is a British Standard Institute (BSI) Certified Provisional Quality Auditor and is listed in the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA).
MRS. BAWO TAJINERE IKOMI
MRS. BAWO TAJINERE IKOMI was born in London on 21st July 1969, the day the American Astronauts landed on the moon. She attended the Kindergarten School, Sea Shell, Port Harcourt from 1971 to 1973 and the high brow Fountain School, Surulere from 1974 to 1979 when she gained admission at barely 9 years into the prestigious Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Benin-City. She was a House prefect and graduated with a very good West African School Certificate (4As and 3Cs) at less than 14 years. On account of her tender age, she had a brief spell at the Emergency Science and Arts School, Onikan, before she gained admission into University of Jos to read History. She graduated with a Second Class Honours degree at 19. After completing her NYSC stint at the former Intercontinental Merchant Bank. She proceeded to the University of Reading, U.K. where she read law and gained her Bachelor’s degree in Law in 1994 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1996.
Bawo Ikomi joined Trithel’s board of directors from inception in 1992 as a non-executive director until 2007 when she assumed the executive role of Human Resources Director.
She is married to Mr. Aboyowa Ikomi, and they have three adorable daughters
